Day 3

Ok, so i'm now 16.07 so have lost 3 pounds so far. I'm ok with this as only been doing it for two full days but feel if i'd done a low calorie diet I would have lost more. Anyway, still not been to the toilet which is a little worrying.
I've got a cinema day today so am taking plenty of high fat low protein treats. Usually i'd have a huge bucket of popcorn so I feel it's going to be hard to stick to. Later we're meant to be eating out. I'm not sure I can, I mean, what can you have on a high fat diet. We're thinking Nandos chicken with plenty of oil? Just got to be careful with portion control and calorie contents.

Starting the Kekwick Diet

I'm currently on day 2 of the Kewkick diet which is a hard core version of the Atkins Diet. You essentially eat fat, little protein and zero carbs (90% fat + 10% protein) equalling to approximately 1000 calories a day and this is designed for metabolically resistant dieters who can lose little weight on anything else.
I searched the internet for some idea of how much I could lose in a week or so and found very little out there so thought i'd do my own little experiment. I'm planning on doing this diet for as long as I can and for as long as I lose weight. I found stories where one person lost 6lbs in the first day, and plenty of comments that the diet causes you to lose weight too fast to be save. This is where I want to know; how much weight loss is unsafe? I seriously doubt i've lost more than 3lbs at the moment which is on par with a normal diet for me.

I started weighing 16.10 on Wednesday 9th March and will weigh myself over the next few days and keep the blog updated as much as possible.
So far I've been eating pure butter, avocados, chicken, full fat mayo, olive oil, brie and a full fat cream cheese and have been having 5 mini meals a day. Today I have added pork scratchings (1:1 ratio of fat to protein) and boiled egg yolks with mayonnaise to my meals.

I've found the diet ok, quite plain but tasty so far. Eating pure butter was not a high point, and despite it tasting good my instinct was to heave, so I gave up. I also attempted a tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil but it was also a problem to get down. My hopes are in the olive oli, avocado and cream cheese combo but am also fantasising about deep fried chicken.....hmmm!

I thought the fat content would keep me feeling full for longer and satisfy me quickly, and I have definately been eating very small portions, however, I have still been hungry periodically throughout the 2 days and assume this is due to the 1000 calorie limit. I'm definately in ketosis now as my mouth feels dry and so I'm burning fat. I haven't had any other side effects although I had trouble going to toilet this morning.

I'll give you a little bit of scientific evidence to back the diet up tomorrow. Wish me luck!
